Kealoha Birth Services
What I Offer You
During the pregnancy I will help you establish a birth plan and make sure you are informed about your options during your birth. I provide you with non-judgmental support throughout your labor and delivery to help you achieve the birth you desire, no matter what that is. Whether you are planning a natural birth, whether you want pain relief, or you're having a scheduled cesarean, I will be there to support you through it all.
I will aid your partner in assisting you as well, your partner plays a huge rule in your birth, I do not replace the role of your partner. I stay with you for a short time after delivery to ensure you have established feeding, whether that is breast or bottle. If you desire placenta services, I will leave with your placenta and return your finished product within 72 hours.
What about the partner's role when using a doula?
The role of the doula is never to take the place of partners in labor, but rather to complement and enhance their experience.
Today, more partners play an active role in the birth process.
However, some partners prefer to enjoy the delivery without having to stand in as the labor coach.
By having a doula as a part of the birth team, the partner is free to do whatever he/she chooses. Doulas can encourage the partner to use comfort techniques and can step in if he/she wants a break. Having a doula allows the psartner to support his partner emotionally during labor and birth and to also enjoy the experience without the added pressure of trying to remember everything he learned in childbirth class!
